Tape Art Mural Exhibition & Education Project
本計劃由非牟利藝術團體「藝術到家」策劃，與「香港教育學院」 文化與創意藝術學系」聯合主辦，旨在社區推廣藝術與大眾分享，透過藝術家創作及藝術教育工作坊的形式進行。當中，邀請具25年創作膠紙藝術經驗的，美國著名“Tape Art”藝術家Michael Townsend和 Leah Smith到香港教育學院，與教院學生以縐紋膠紙為素材，在配合校園特色場地環境，設計及製作膠紙藝術壁畫。
藝術家更會到土瓜灣牛棚藝術村進行創作，在位於術村與馬頭角道休憩空間之間的一道圍牆，創作壁畫。此外，他們會在牛棚藝術村舉辦一場為藝術教師而設的工作坊，邀請教師創作，並參與公開展覽，以推廣“Tape Art”這極具創意的藝術媒介，及為本港藝術教育注入更多不同的創作想像。圍牆的兩面（一面向馬頭角道，另一面則位於牛棚藝術村之內），均會被使用，而且創作內容將會裡外互相呼應， 把藝術由牛棚藝術村內，伸延至村外，藉以鼓勵更多街坊在休憩空間流連，和主動參觀藝術村。
The current project is organized by non-profit art organization “Art Together” and co- presented by “Art Together” and “The Department of Cultural and Creative Arts of The Hong Kong Institute of Education.” The medium of tape art will be brought to the community and public through art exhibition and education workshops. American artists, Michael Townsend and Leah Smith, who have more than 25 years of experience working with Tape Art, will be invited to work with students at The Hong Kong Institute of Education to create site-specific tape art murals with masking tape.
Michael Townsend and Leah Smith will also work on the enclosing wall around Cattle Depot Artist Village in To Kwa Wan, to create a tape art mural. In order to further promote this creative medium of “Tape Art,” and to bring forth more imaginations to local art education, they will also host a workshop for Hong Kong art educators, whose tape artworks will also be shown in the exhibition at Cattle Depot. Both sides of the enclosing wall (one side facing Ma Tau Kok Road, while the other facing the village) will be utilized in the current project, in order to extend the artistic spirit of Artist Village to the outside of it, and to transform the Artist Village to be even more inviting.
